Club Belrose Golf News

The weather was not looking so good for the memorial shield this year.

At one point I thought we might be needing flippers and a snorkel, but the overnight rain eased and other than a couple of light showers the day turned out alright.

The memorial shield is a yearly event that is played in memory of our deceased members.

Please take the time to remember these players.

Kooindah Waters is really good at claiming many a golf ball and i am sure that most players lost a ball or two for their round.

We once again chose the cart and lunch package and as always we were pampered by the pro shop and restaurant staff.

The course was in good condition considering all the rain and the fact that we were able to have carts and drive on most fairways was excellent.

We had 26 starters for the 4 ball Ambrose event - 7 groups.

The Ambrose event is an event that allows many players to play shots from different field positions to what they may be used to, which helps to spice things up.

The top 3 places were fairly tight with just 1.125 strokes separating them.

First place was taken out by Group 3 consisting of David Ineson, Rob Preston, Alex Greig and Rob Langer.

It was good to see David Ineson back and in the winners once again.

Second  and third place was decided bye a countback with second place going to Group 6

Matt Brown, Adam Baker, Ian Salatnay

Third place was Group 7

Werner Betschart, Dan Page, Paul Stracey and Ian Prohm.

Nearest the pin winners were

Hole 2  - Group 1

Jason Pugh, Keith Chapple, Carl walker & Brendan Ayres

Hole 17 - Group 6

Matt Brown, Adam Baker, Ian Salatnay

The next game is at Warringah on the 4th July 8.00am Tee Off.
