It appeared that an early morning tee off did not suit many of our members with only 20 registered to play.

We were fortunate enough after a few days of rain to have a nice sunny day with a slight breeze - which picked up a bit as the day progressed.

Everyone was on time and in actual fact some of use were there waiting at the gate before the staff even arrived.

The Springs is a challenging course to walk and has plenty of small water hazards and a few larger ones.

As I said to Hans - "There is a bit of water but nothing that really gets in the way".

Of course I was a talking about my game and not others - as Hans corrected me - half way around the course.

We played an individual stableford event with our standard prize money and other prizes, but we also added on a special stableford teams score event called the 4 ball accumulator.

This event was a trial for bragging rights and allows us to record individual stableford points while playing a teams style event over the top of it.

I personally find these teams events adds an extra dimension and enhances the social aspect of encouraging and assisting your fellow team mates.

I am interested to hear from the members on their view leading up to the Xmas game and the release of the next years program, with the view of including some of these trialled teams events next year.

Due to a wedding being held at The Springs the bar was not open which was a little disappointing to learn only when the first group finished.

It would have been nice if the club had perhaps informed us of this fact prior.

Regardless of this social set back a good proportion of our players returned to Club Belrose where we were able to collate the scores and hold our normal after game presentation.

The winning team with a combined accumulated score of 79 points was Robbie Rodriquez, Mike Odhavjee, Hans Weitmann & Henry Aarden

Closely followed by Alex, Steve & Ian just 1.5 points behind.

The Stableford WINNER for the day was Henry Aarden with 35 points.

2nd - Alex Greig with 33 points

3rd - Gary Bender with 31 points

The only Nearest the Pin winner was Werner Betschart on the 16th.

The jackpot was not won.

Next game is the final points game of the season and is at Wakehurst on the 28th Nov

Both the COVID Cup and the Captains Trophy is decided at the completion of this round.

Jason Pugh is currently leading in both season events.

Tee off - 7.15 am

The final event of the year is the Christmas Party event held at Royal Turramurra.

This is a fun day dress up event followed by the AGM and a lunch and included drinks at Club Belrose.

If you want your name down for either event please register on the web site or text the captain.
