Riverside Oaks 6th July 2025.
After a several days of wet weather early in the working week, the weekend turned out nice and 16 golfers set off to the Glenore Bakery and Riverside Oaks for a reasonable 8am Tee off.
The fairways and greens were damp with dew at the start of the day with eth greens quickening up as the dew burnt off. I cant say the same for the fairways. These stayed damp and actually got worse as we headed around the course.
With the 5th hole out of action the spare 11b hole came into play, although it might have been nice if we were advised of this prior to our start so that we could advise all players and adjust the cards to suit.
This and the added issue of the cards only having the 1 to 18 stroke index led to significant scoring issues which the last group tried to work through to announce a winner of the day.
This winner was announced as Jack with a score of 35 nudging out Andrew also with 35 points, however once the score cards were later closely checked for entry into the master spreadsheet it was realised that an error had occurred and the actual winner of the Day was Andrew Morrison.
This error will be corrected over the coming days and the committee apologises for any inconvenience caused.
Mick Stevens has taken a strangle hold of the points score with Les not playing an Mick putting in a consistent performance.
